September 8, 2001 I walked down the aisle and married the man of my dreams. He was the one I had been waiting for. I had always prayed that I wouldn't have to be bothered with dating and breaking up and searching for the special guy. And much to my dismay, God heard my prayers and answered them. I made it through high school, college, nursing school, and graduated into the workforce before ever going on that feared first date. (minus my first crush in 9th and 10th grade). My family feared that I had spent too many lonely days in my 24 years of life and worried that I wouldn't find the man for me SOON! Having stood as the MAID of honor at both my sisters weddings, it was my turn, and when it finally came, it was awesome! I get little butterflies in my stomach just thinking about the day our paths crossed, the moment we saw each other for the first time and didn't even know what was in our future. Brushing past each other in an elevator, him coming to the ICU unit where I worked, hoping for a job there too.
The past 8 years have been the most amazingly wonderful and also hard work, but so well worth it. Thank you, baby, for making me the wife and mother I had always dreamed of. Thank you for your strength, security, and love that keeps this family together. You are one in a million ( in so many ways) and I am so blessed that God chose you to be MINE! Happy Anniversary and I'm looking forward to 100 more! I love you with all my heart and look forward to whatever God has planned for us in the future.
