My Birthday Boy!

My baby is 5 today! I can't believe it. It seems only yesterday he was a babe in my arms. Where does the time go? I love seeing the big boy he is turning into but can't help but long for the days of him sitting in his swing, cooing at me like I was the only person in the world that mattered. He has changed so much in these 5 years.

This week is a break from school for Mardi Gras and he thought it was his birthday "week"! Boy is he milking it. We have had special dinners, breakfasts, a trip to the zoo, bowling, you name it, we squeezed it in this week all to celebrate jackson turning 5. Here are some pictures from our birthday week.

"Watch me do it by myself!"

where did my babies go?

I can't believe logan is 3 and my first born will be 5 this month. I long to have the days back where they were little, squishy, babbling, babes in my arms. Life is flying by and I miss my babies. They remind me daily that they are "big boys" now and don't I know it. Just thought I would post a few favorite pics of my boys when they were little.

shake it baby...

more logan quotes...

So Logan is my adorable 3 year old who is absorbing the world around him like a sponge. This morning I had the pleasure of talking to his sunday school teacher, who is also his mommy's day out teacher, and she shared one of logan's quotes of the day with me. They have been talking about God and how he is everywhere even though you can't see him. During sunday school, Ms. Karen had them close their eyes and imagine where God was. Logan said,

"I see him, over there! He is getting my room ready far, far, away!"

Wow. A three year old who already is grasping at the concept of heaven! How wonderful and what a great reminder of what our priorities should be. Let us all remember to store up our treasures in heaven and not this temporary home.

call him...

So this morning I was in my bathroom drying my hair and logan came in to talk to me. I turned the hair dryer off when I saw a frown and asked logan what was wrong.

" I hurt my wweg(leg), mama."

" I'm sorry baby, what happened"

" I tripped in the playroom and hurt my weg," pointing to his shin.(imagine that, tripping in the many toys)

" Can you pray for me, mama?!"

" Sure!" I said proudly as I thought back to telling logan he can always talk to Jesus whenever he needed to.

" Can you ask Jesus to make it all better?" Logan asking so sweetly.

" Yes, I will" and as I got ready to start praying for Logan, he seemed impatient all of a sudden and exclaimed;

I was taken by surprise and laughed as my 3 year old was upset that I wasn't reaching for the phone. We had a little chat about prayer and not needing a phone and after a little prayer for his bobo, logan ran off on his merry way as I sat with a smile on my face at my little angel who reminds me everyday about what an awesome God we serve.

There is nothing too small to raise up to heaven. God is teaching me so much through my little guys and I thank Him everyday for what blessings they are!

My Boys

Happy Valentine's Day!

The boy's had their parties at school for valentine's day and we had fun. John and I had a wonderful time on our date night one night early. Dinner and a movie is always nice while the kids were with a babysitter. Here are a few school pictures and our valentine.

The boys have been working on scripture memory verses and here is a sample from a car ride today. This is my first attempt ever to record and post a video so I apologize for the poor quality. I will work on that. Remember that logan is in speech therapy and he goes first so you can't really understand him. His first verse is john 3:16 and then proverbs 3:5-6. Hope you enjoy!
