Memorial Day Weekend

Whew! What a weekend! (and it's not even over yet!)
Happy Memorial Day!
My dad is a retired Navy Commander so I love this holiday and our country.  I've been blaring 'I'm proud to be an american' by lee greenwood on my ipod all weekend! Thank you to all the service men and women who make our country what it is! We couldn't live here without ya! :)

My garden is in full bloom and looking great, but boy is it HOT! And not even June yet!

My neice, riley turned 8 on friday! We had a cousin party to celebrate. Donuts for breakfast, popsicles for snack, pizza for lunch and swimming all day!
Here are all 7 cousins together on one couch, amazing and miraculous!
We sure do LOVE gramma's pool!

Saturday we had some friends over and I made my first Shish Kabobs EVER! They turned out great! Will definately be making them more! Everyone loved them.
The Buchanan's
The Jackson's

all 5 boys who played great together all night!

This morning we went to church and it was great. We all wore our red, white, and blue in honor of memorial day weekend!

We still have a birthday party to go to and didn't even include moving day for my little sister! Woohoo, they bought a house and we helped them move saturday morning! Whew, what a weekend! How about you?

end of school

wow, this school year is almost over! today is logan's last day of 3 year old preschool and jackson has kindergarten graduation on wednesday! i can't believe it.  my life is going by so fast and my boys are growing up way too fast.  i am a little stressed about summer already being here.  the boys have had their moments the last 2 weeks with fighting and not getting along and i know i'm going to have to keep everyone busy this summer to keep the peace around here.  we have already done swim lessons so swimming will be a big part of our schedule.  t-ball ends in 2 weeks and that is good and bad.  the practice and game schedules have kept us busy almost everynight but the boys love it and it's great exercise.  jackson is my academic kid so i'm going to have to schedule some workbook time to keep him happy. maybe some regular trips to the library? what do all of you do to keep busy and happy during the summer?!

we scheduled our annual beach trip for early this year and i'm praying the oil spill won't be a problem. it is all so sad and i've grown tired of watching the news about how it will affect everything. so discouraging.  anyway, we are only going for a few days this year because of my hubby's job but it will still be good to get away. the boys are already counting down days to the sand, surf, shells, and sun!!! hope you have a great week!

is it possible?

is it possible that God chose to bless me with children?

is it possible that those 2 boys are actual miracles?

is it possible that i could have more love that ever imagined for my 2 miracles?

is it possible that it is the best job in the whole world to be their mommy?

is it possible that it has already been 6 years since my life changed forever with the birth of our 1st child?

is it possible to experience so much joy and fulfillment that i cry with life's little victories?

is it possible that my baby boy is four and a half and i've only just blinked?

is it possible that all my decisions revolve around those two little blessings?

is it possible that i really have BOYS?

is it possible that i actually love having boys and all the dirt and bugs that go along with it?

is it possible that these days we are walking out are just steps taken in a journey that just keeps getting better and better?

wow. yes. it IS possible.  it is amazing. it is my life as a mom and i love it!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there.  Here' s hoping your day is as wonderful as mine as we enjoy the children that call us mom!

Show us your life friday...my kid's names

I have 2 precious boys that God so graciously blessed us with! They are my whole world and I love them to bits.  I always thought I would have girls.  God has a sense of humor.  My oldest is Jackson Scott.  Jackson was a name I always loved.  In my twenties, it was one of those names that was always in my head if i had a boy.  After 24 hours of labor and a very traumatic delivery, my husband let me name our first born whatever the heck I wanted to!  :)  My hubby picked the middle name.  Scott is my hubby's best friend and more like a brother to him.  We wanted to honor a key person in my husband's life who put his life on track way back when!
Baby #2, I knew he was another boy almost immediately and deep down wanted to pick a special name in honor of my dad.  I have 2 sisters so my dad was always surrounded by GIRLS!!!  He is James Logan.  My sister already used James so I really wanted a Logan.  After having 3 daughters, my parents are now blessed with 6 grandSONS! and a granddaughter!  There was no real reason he became Logan Maxwell, other than I thought it had a nice ring to it.  Again, my wonderful husband let me name our children after carrying and birthing them (which was less than pretty!) so there you have it, my son's and why we named them what we did, short and sweet version!  TGIF!

busy, busy, busy

the last 3 weeks have been crazy, busy but in a wonderful way! swim team and t-ball are in full force and every night of the week we have either one, or both between the two boys.  they are staying active and enjoying being outside with fabulous spring weather we've been having.  here are a few pictures from the last few weeks.
