it's been awhile...

jackson is sick. we just finished a crazy week with fall fest at school. john bought us a golf cart! it's hot outside and almost halloween.  church was great on sunday.  my house is still a mess.  john has been working a ton.  i'm feeling blah.  that about does it for tonight. hopefully i'll be back and better soon.

fall is here, and we've been enjoying fabulous weather! i love pumpkins and fall and holidays period. i'm behind on everything in my life and am feeling desperate to catch up.  i have so many posts spinning in my head but just haven't taken the time to stop and write. i've been spending tons of quality kid time outside with the boys, and at the end of the day...that's what counts.  at least that's what i tell myself when the laundry is piled high and the dishes still sit in the sink! :) happy fall y'all and have a great weekend.

so i've been meaning to blog for weeks now and life is just flying by me.  nothing and everything is going on all at once and i find myself wishing, hoping, and dreaming that life slows down and i get my act together.  1st grade is giving us a run for our money for lots of different reasons. jackson is amazing and unique and wonderful and complicated...i want to be there for everything and help him succeed at everything he does. soccer and fall baseball are in full swing and keep me crazy trying to remember which kid has which practice which day of the week. jackson started piano lessons and LOVES it! i have yet to find my desk under an unforgivable pile of mail and papers.  there's laundry to do, lunches to make, floors to mop, children to raise, husband to connect with, and i somehow am not quite making it all work. i browse some blogs for inspiration and sanity only to feel even less adequate when i stare at my unfinished to do list.  today i treated myself to some yard therapy and pulled weeds, mulched, spruced up for fall, and just enjoyed God's beauty on a glorious fall day.  I will try to get back and update some more...upload some pictures, and just breathe.r

wiww...NYC edition

we had just gotten off the plane and couldn't wait to hit the city! jeans and t-shirt are my staple and flying day was not exception! v-neck tees from the gap and jeans from Maurices. sunglasses 5 dollar special at Marshalls!

layers were key in NYC! the days started cool and got hot in the afternoon! here i am sporting my fleurty girl Saints shirt last thursday for game day!

we're back.....

I just got back from an amazing anniversary trip to NYC with my fabulous hubby of 9 years!!! It was awesome and I have so many pictures and stories to share.  But first, I must unpack, regroup, unwind, take a deep breath and then I will post more! Here is a teaser from the Statue of Liberty! Isn't she amazing?? :)

my baby goes to school...

My baby started Pre-K today, sniff, sniff.

He wasn't quite sure about going but had a fabulous day!

He had just asked me, "But mom? what days do I get to stay home with you?"

That broke my heart.  His program is 5 days a week (half day on monday) and he is so used to being home with me.  I missed him today but I know he will have so much fun meeting new friends!
